Paying homage to legendary daredevil Evel Knievel, Pastrana successfully re-created three of his most iconic jumps on a sweltering Sunday in Las Vegas. I proposed to my wife Lyndsey here; I had my first Nitro Circus show here. He convinced huge throngs at both jump sites that he could fly a motorcycle, too. After making the short jaunt up Flamingo Road to make the showstopper jump, Pastrana soared feet over the fountains with little run-up. He did wheelies and burnouts and posed for selfies with people riding in taxis while saluting the huge crowd on the Strip with clenched fists and upturned thumbs.
Vicki became the first woman to attempt the firewall record, riding a new FTR at high speed through a series of 13 flaming wooden boards, breaking the previous record of Event photographs were taken by Nick Hamilton hamiltonick. Ever since she stepped onto the motocross scene, Vicki Golden has been changing the perception of women on dirtbikes. Growing up in San Diego, California, she started riding and racing motorcycles at a young age. Now Vicki has added the firewall world record to her resume. Evel is remembered for his numerous distance jumps over rows of crushed cars. To kick off the night, Pastrana soared over the length of 52 stacked, crushed cars.
At the end of the day, Travis Pastrana made leaping over 52 cars, 16 buses and the notorious fountain at Caesars Palace on two wheels look easy. Even in plus-degree weather. Even using a heavy, stiff, flat-track bike unlike anything the action-sports stunt icon is used to jumping with. The three back-to-back motorcycle stunts were planned as part of an ambitious night of daredevilry and endurance called Evel Live! It was a daunting proposition even for the year-old freestyle motocross and X-sports legend, who has done some pretty crazy things in his career. Among them: the first-ever dirt-bike double back flip , stunning crowds at the X Games; backflipping a motorcycle between two rooftops ; and skydiving without a parachute. He won his first motocross title at age 14, and has been a dominant force in the sport ever since.
At the end of the day, Travis Pastrana made leaping over 52 cars, 16 buses . of Las Vegas to the final jump site of the night: Caesars Palace.

Extreme motorcyclist Travis Pastrana will attempt to execute three of Evel Knievel's infamous jumps on live television. The event, Evel Live , will air from 8 to 11 p. Especially because it's not one jump — it's three jumps in three hours, live," he said. As the host, it's super-exciting because I have the best seat in the house other than Travis'… but I don't want that seat. With one jump per hour, Pastrana will attempt to recreate the concepts and exceed the execution of Knievel's most famous moments.

This Weekend, Travis Pastrana Attempts the Jump That Nearly Killed Evel Knievel
On Sunday, July 8th, legendary stunt man Travis Pastrana will attempt something that's never been accomplished before: Three record-breaking motorcycle jumps, back-to-back-to-back, in one evening. And the grand finale will be a shot at the jump that nearly killed Evel Knievel. Sunday night's Evel Live is Pastrana's tribute to Evel Knievel, the man who single-handedly invented the concept of the modern daredevil. But this won't be some low-energy retrospective of Evel's accomplishments. Pastrana will honor Knievel's memory with thrills, chills—and hopefully, no spills—in one action-packed night in Las Vegas. Pastrana will attempt to recreate three of Evel's most legendary jumps, flying higher and further than the original stuntman ever did.
It was a time machine — hitting the ramp precisely at 56 mph and sending some in the crowd all the way back to Clifford Branan saw Pastrana. Branan was visiting Las Vegas with his son, Ford, from Oklahoma. On YouTube. There was a hashtag, of course. It was broadcast live on the History Channel and streamed online by Caesars Palace.
