Each of us has experienced circumstances in our lives when the only person we can turn to is God. Whether in times of greatest need or times when our hearts have been filled with gratitude for the blessings we have received and for the lessons we have learned, we have felt constrained to kneel before Him and express our desires, thanks and praise. These are very poignant and important occurrences in our lives, and numerous songs have been written attempting to capture these moments of greatest need and joy. These "prayer songs" comprise some of the most beautiful, powerful and dramatic ever written. This album is comprised of these songs depicting unique situations in life that give rise to an earnest, sincere and heartfelt communication with the Divine, and the answer that is sure to come.

I came across your blog because I heard that song on the fireside watching BYUTV with my husband and it touched me more than any song has in a long time. Your blog was the first one to come up after I searched the song title! Thanks for putting the youtube link there--I could listen to it over and over. I'm actually going to perform it now in my sacrament meeting! Your blog came up while my friend and I were looking up this song for our choir show.

Did he speak to our intelligences in that way in the long-ago council when we understood enough to choose to follow Christ?
