Dear Lifehacker, I haven't moved in several years, and I'm still using the cable modem that I purchased and installed when I moved in here. It's pretty old and busted, but it works. Still, I wonder: should I upgrade it? Are there any benefits to newer modems that older modems don't have? Will it make my connection faster?
