there is only one god and one way of salvation

But only the way of faith in Jesus Christ provides salvation. Hick) believes that there are many paths to God, Jesus being only one of them.

Ryle , Is there more than one road to Heaven? Is there more than one way in which the soul of man can be saved? This is the question I propose to consider in this paper, and I shall begin its consideration by quoting a text of Scripture: "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given to men by which we must be saved! These words are striking in themselves — but they are much more striking if we observe when and by whom they were spoken.

One reason Christians believe Jesus is the only way of salvation is because this is what Jesus claimed about Himself. Why did He make such a startling claim? Was it out of pride or ego? Or was He mentally unbalanced, or even deliberately lying to trick people into following Him? Why, then, did He say He was the only way to the Father? You see, only one thing separates us from God and keeps us out of heaven—and that is our sin. This is why our greatest need is to have our sins forgiven and cleansed, for only then can we be reconciled to God and go to be with Him throughout eternity.

Simply put, God's plan of salvation is the divine romance recorded in the pages of the Bible. Biblical salvation is God's way of providing his people deliverance from sin and spiritual death through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. The New Testament reveals the source of salvation in Jesus Christ. By faith in Jesus Christ , believers are saved from God's judgment of sin and its consequence—eternal death. When Adam and Eve rebelled, humans were separated from God through sin. God's holiness required punishment and payment atonement for sin, which was and still is eternal death.

Is there more than one road to Heaven? Is there more than one way in which the soul of man can be saved? These words are striking in themselves; but they are much more striking if we observe when and by whom they were spoken. They were spoken by a poor and friendless Christian, in the midst of a persecuting Jewish Council. It was a grand confession of Christ. They were spoken by the lips of the Apostle Peter. This is the man who, a few weeks before, forsook Jesus and fled: this is the very man who three times over denied his Lord.

Christians throughout history have always faced challenges to their faith. Today, the most common challenge to Christianity comes from those who deny that conscious faith in Jesus is the only way of salvation. In our postmodern, relativistic age, Christians who believe what Jesus said about being the sole Mediator of redemption are often seen as narrow-minded, bigoted, and mean-spirited. Professing Christians who deny, question, or do not forthrightly proclaim the exclusivity of Jesus tend to think they are being humble. Since human knowledge is limited, they reason, to claim that we know Jesus alone is the way to the Father is arrogant and culturally insensitive. If we were the originators of this conclusion, it might indeed be arrogant to affirm Jesus as the only way of salvation.

Is There Only One Way of Salvation?

No one comes to the Father except through me. Sin has separated all humans from God. Only one person, the divine Son of God, Jesus , was able to reconcile sinful man to the perfectly holy God.
