Michael Mcdonald and Patti LaBelle - On My Own LIVE!.mp4.and with
A song he wrote and recorded from "sheer spiritual inspiration," Allen's didn't think "Southern Nights" had hit potential until Glen Campbell took it to 1 two years later. A drummer for one of the most successful metal bands of the last decade, Chris talks about what it's like writing and performing with Slipknot. Metal-neck is a factor. When televangelists like Jimmy Swaggart took on rockers like Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica, the rockers retaliated. Bono could even be seen mocking the preachers. Surprise exits, a catfight and some very memorable performances make our list of the most memorable Idol moments.

This amazing duet by Patti La Belle and Michael McDonald is a favorite of mine for life, not just the beautiful song, the matching voices and dialogues their "characters" have but also the video, which to me seemed to inspire years later the poster and maybe the story setting of "Sleepless in Seattle". One is in New York, the other is L. It's pure poetry in images.
Welcome to Forgotten Videos. For some, these videos are forgotten, for others just filed away, and for others still, a totally brand-new discovery. Whichever category you fall into, each week we'll feature a video that's possibly been collecting dust when what it really deserves is a fresh look. Or vice-versa…. We're not here to judge, we just want to take you on a little trip down memory lane. Yep, you'll remember when hair was really that big, when drums were that up front in the mix, when video was young er and so were you. It also highlighted a period of revitalization for songwriter Burt Bacharach, a few lyrical curiosities courtesy of lyricist — and Bacharach's then-wife — Carol Bayer Sager, and arguably LaBelle's biggest hairdo ever unless you count the video for her minor hit "If You Asked Me To".
The song was originally recorded by singer Dionne Warwick for inclusion on her album Friends. It is unclear why the song was not included on the final track list. The song was based on a relationship that had reached its end with both parties going their separate ways in a melancholy state with the occasional option of coming back together again one day. It was often stated [ by whom? This was reflected in the music video produced to promote the song, which depicted LaBelle and McDonald performing the song simultaneously on different coasts. The views from their respective porches, where they finished the song, made clear their separation by the continent. The song was initially not intended to be a duet at all, but LaBelle decided to invite McDonald to help her turn the song into a duet, as she stated: "The song was sent to me and I did a version of it but somehow it just didn't quite work.
