Welcome to my Southern Fall Porch! I am so happy to have you here at Our Southern Home! Fall is definitely in the air…even in South Carolina. Our falls can be a bit up and down with the temperatures through mid-November. The evenings are always cool. If you follow my blog, you have learned that I love porches and cooler weather! I am sharing my porch along with 24 other fabulous bloggers this week.
Out wedding is September 15th, and FH definitely wants to have pumpkins there. We wanted to do an October wedding, but all the dates were taken at the venue we wanted. We are getting married at a gazebo with steps leading up to it. I want to do pumpkins and giant pots of mums on the steps leading up to it, and tule on the frame of the gazebo. I've done a few searches, but have only found Gilcrease Orchard as a place to buy pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, hay bales, etc for decorating our home for Fall. We brought the inside decorations with us when we moved, but we would like to find a place that carries the outside decorations. Does anyone have any recommendations for a place that will sell outdoor decorations? I am not sure if they are for outdoor, but usually Hobby Lobby has a bunch of fall stuff to choose from. Maybe you can call them first before heading over to make sure.
Please see our Disclosure Page for more information. During the summer I have ferns in my urns and those will stay green well into the end of October November we start decorating for Christmas. So I usually just keep my ferns and add a wreath, a mum or two and a pumpkin and call it a done! I had everything except the mums and corn stalks. Which btw, I had kept mine from the corn I grew this summer with plans on using them for fall decorating but the ones that are sold at Home Depot etc. I had some good ears of corn but my stalks are half the size of these! I have lots of faux pumpkins which I buy at the end of the season.
