Organized on the same day as Move-In to the on-campus residence halls, parents and students are invited to stop by for refreshments, information, and to meet representatives from various NYU departments. It's a great place to meet other families of new students, take a break, pick up some free stuff, and ask questions. Students living in on-campus residence halls will meet for mandatory floor meetings at pm. Note that there are no programs for parents and families beyond this day unless otherwise indicated. Some friends are bringing their son up in a few weeks I helped move. Moving into college in NYC is different than anywhere else!! NYU has dormitories spread out all over the city. There are also graduate dorms on 33rd Street and also on Mercer Street law school. So first, which dorm are they talking about. In addition, NYU has their own buses that travel between the dorms and the various building.
Overall, the week boasts over programs that cover a multitude of topics from getting involved and learning about NYU, to staying safe and navigating public transportation. These events are for new undergraduate first years and transfer students. And of course, you won't want to miss the awesome Marquee Events! Join President Andy Hamilton, fellow new undergraduate students, alumni, and university officials at the Presidential Welcome of the newest class. Immediately following will be The Reality Show: NYU -- a gritty, funny musical about the lives of NYU students as they experience an array of confounding, confusing, and exciting issues. Unlike a university whose campus is separated by gates or walls, NYU is very much in and of New York City and our residence halls are just another part of a busy metropolis with which we share the streets, sidewalks, parks, and trains. It's nearly impossible to tell where the city begins and the University ends!,
