Even before Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast hit theaters, we were spoiled with every trailer, poster, and song under the sun. We've been treated to plenty of chill-inducing trailers , plus gorgeous pictures galore and a treasure trove of details. Months before the release, we got our first listen to Emma Watson's singing voice. In situations like this, we know people will still ask whether or not Watson is actually singing. So, well, is she? We did a little digging and we have exciting news.

The live-action reboot of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" features heavily Auto-Tuned singing by Emma Watson and two versions of the soundtrack's titular song. Walt Disney Records. The first version is a pop and rhythm-and-blues-style cover sung by Ariana Grande and John Legend. Grande and Legend flood the song with cringeworthy, airy wailing, rather than the powerfully emotional anthem that sets the turning point for the film. Her voice is gentle, yet firm and full-bodied, allowing her to capture the impact of the ballroom scene where Belle and the Beast discover their love for each other. Including two versions of the title song was a good idea that had the potential to introduce variety to the soundtrack, but unfortunately the concept lacked a solid execution. Watson, despite her talents as an actress, was not a good choice for Belle because she cannot sing in a film with a precedent in musical impact.

By Rebecca Lawrence For Mailonline. She's been lavished with praise for her starring role as Belle in the Beauty and the Beast movie. So it was understandable that Emma Watson was full of pride as she reflected on her work in the live-action Disney retelling. During an interview aired on Tuesday's This Morning, the year-old actress revealed she was so shocked to hear how much her singing voice had progressed that she burst into tears. So it was understandable that Emma Watson was full of pride as she reflected on her work. She explained: 'I was in tears.

We all know Emma Watson as Hermione Granger — that's what happens when you have a starring role in a beloved franchise for 10 years. Now six years after the release of the final Harry Potter movie, Watson is getting ready to make her biggest step away from Hermione as Belle in Disney's live action Beauty and the Beast.

I saw the new live-action Beauty and the Beast, and I absolutely loved it. Alan Menken is one of my top 5 favorite composers, and this particular story has always captivated me. When I first got into musical theatre, I only really cared about the story as it served the music; the story as an excuse to have music. I think that Disney did a great job bringing this cartoon and story to life on all fronts. Well, except one. Flashback to when I finally was able to purchase Pro Tools version 5!

Originally recorded for the film by English actor Dan Stevens , who performs the song in his starring role as the titular Beast , "Evermore" was first released as a single by American singer Josh Groban on March 3, Stevens' version became available on March 10, when the film's soundtrack was released online, while Groban's cover is played during the film's closing credits. In the animated film, the Beast barely sings because Menken and original Beauty and the Beast lyricist Howard Ashman had not been able to determine a moment in the film during which it would have been appropriate for the character to perform his own song. Initially, Menken had especially wanted the Beast to perform " If I Can't Love Her ", a song he and Rice had written for the character to sing in stage adaptation of the animated film, in the remake, but ultimately decided that an entirely new song that establishes that the Beast has finally learned how to love instead would be more suitable due to the film's three-act structure. In Beauty and the Beast , "Evermore" is performed by the Beast shortly after he releases Belle from the castle so that she may return to the village and aid her father. Despite knowing that freeing her will further jeopardize his chances of becoming human again, the Beast realizes he loves Belle and ultimately sacrifices his own happiness in return for hers.

Emma Watson Sings 'Belle' in Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' (2017)

Twitter Is Skeptical Of Emma Watson's Singing Voice

Emma Watson is a good actress who looks the part of a Disney princess, but she does not have the voice of one. In her defense, few people do. Aspirational figures that they are, Disney princesses tend to sing songs that push the limits of the average vocal range without breaking so much as a cartoon sweat. Back in the movie musical heyday, this practice was fairly common — the late Marni Nixon , for instance, provided the singing voice of everyone from Deborah Kerr to Audrey Hepburn — but those who provided dubbing often went without fair credit. There is, of course, another solution to our current scourge of just-okay singers: Start casting movie musicals with actors with proven vocal talent. But in an industry where so many projects are packaged around known quantities, this seems like an impossible dream. The truth, as with so many Hollywood fantasies, is much less appealing.

The actress stopped by " Good Morning America " today and dished on how her character is different from the Belle in the animated version. I hope she's a slightly more modern version She was a bit of a rebellious Disney princess. In the film, Watson did her own dancing and singing, which was challenging at times. It's a totally different thing from acting in a way. There's nothing to hide behind. It's your voice and yeah, I felt very sort of naked doing it for the first time so I think that was the hardest.

If Emma Watson's voiced had to be auto tuned why cast her in a role she'd have to sing for?
