The movie, which focused on basketball player Troy Bolton and book-smart Gabriella Montez breaking the status quo at East High by auditioning for coveted roles in the school musical, was filled with catchy songs and matching choreography. I was like, 'Who is this girl telling me how to do my own audition? When the pair teamed up to sing "What I've Been Looking For" on Tisdale's YouTube channel , they explained that they simply didn't understand each other. But in reality, the school is located in Salt Lake City and their mascot is a leopard. Because they made the movie during regular school hours, the cast and crew was often on a time crunch.
He also played drums for a local church and initiated a men's a cappella singing group at Kickapoo called No Treble. With one YouTube video, Ashley Tisdale has taken us back to in a musical time machine. This is just the latest performance Tisdale has treated us with lately on her channel as she recently joined another HSM co-star, Vanessa Hudgens, to sing their first duet together , as well as regularly wowing us alongside husband Chris French by covering The Chainsmokers , Paramore , Britney Spears , and Walk the Moon. How lucky are we, seriously? For those of you who don't remember HSM , Tisdale and Grabeel played singing-and-dancing twins Sharpay and Ryan, two attention-loving kids who were super close. The siblings had two duets together — "What I've Been Looking For" and "Bop to the Top" — in which they didn't have to share the spotlight with anyone else. It's hard to tell it watching Tisdale and Grabeel now, more than a decade after HSM came out, but they revealed that they weren't exactly best friends while filming. Tisdale said they "hated each other" and Grabeel confirmed that they "didn't get off on the best foot.
Not only did they give us a brand new version of their first duet, they also spilt some tea on their own friendship - they confessed that they hated each other during the filming of the first HSM movie! We were not good friends. We hated each other. Ashley previously reunited with Vanessa Hudgens on her YouTube channel but it wasn't for a High School Musical number - Sharpay and Gabriella famously never had a duet in the whole trilogy. But they did finally give us the duet we deserved with Elle King's 'Ex's and Oh's'. In a video posted on May 23, Ashley and Lucas talked about performing the song back then and their fond memories of filming the movies. Ashley praised Lucas for his voice, saying that he was one of the best singers in the cast. She also shared that in the beginning, they did not like each other before. It's been 10 years. We can talk about this now. We hated each other". Later, she added: "I have to say, after we wrapped though, I've alway had a love for you.
